Piano Sound
The Clavinova CSP Series harnesses the expertise of Yamaha’s industry-leading engineers, who study the behavior of the piano when being played. This behavior is converted into an algorithm and paired with a high-powered tone generator chip to actively recreate a truly expressive sound experience.
- Grand Expression Modeling is not just the playback of a recorded piano sound, but a nuanced sound with tonal variations that responds to the way you play. The sound produced in an acoustic grand piano varies depending on the interplay of the hammers, dampers, and strings, creating a limitless range of tonal expression. When playing softly, the piano produces a more mellow and warm tone, which becomes more brilliant as you play louder and faster. Grand Expression Modeling brings this powerful acoustic experience to the CSP Series.
Virtual Resonance Modeling recreates the resonance present throughout the whole body of an acoustic grand piano, producing a rich reverberation of sound that envelopes both the player and listeners. VRM uses advanced calculations from the state of each string of the piano’s 88 notes along with the timing and depth of the damper pedal. These nuances allow for a widely varied level of expression from the Clavinova.
Your Smart Device for Ultimate Control
Using Yamaha’s Smart Pianist App, you have full control of every feature of your CSP via your Apple iOS or Android smart device. Easily choose from a full library of other instrument voices (up to 872 voices on CSP-295 & CSP-295GP), switch between a selection of virtual performance spaces to enhance your acoustic experience, and use digital sheet music – and much, more using the Smart Pianist app.

Multi-Track Song Recording
The CSP Series Clavinova allows you to record your performance with ease…with the press of one button in the Smart Pianist app. Record single tracks in either MIDI or Audio format. If you want to record multiple tracks – up to 16 of them – the CSP and its large selection of instrument voices makes it a breeze to create your own arrangements. Multi-track recordings are made in MIDI format.
Microphone Connection
Take your recording to the next level by connecting a microphone and recording your voice or other acoustic instrument in addition to your piano performance. The CSP includes vocal effects including the ability to harmonize your voice, enrich it through reverb and other effects, and even correct your pitch. Your next Karaoke party awaits!
Connectivity
Every CSP200 Series model features Bluetooth MIDI and Audio for easy connection with Yamaha’s Smart Pianist app, as well as many other apps and devices.
